FOR WILDERNESS HIKERS:
It was John Muir who said, “Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature’s peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like falling leaves.” Whether exploring our routes of wilderness with a guide or navigating on your own, the soft and steady stride of your own two legs carrying you through Callaghan Country’s diverse landscapes is an experience of solitude and deep connection with pristine nature…
Open 7:00am – 9:00pm 7 days a week, Official dates coming soon
Alexander Falls Base Area:
CLOSED UNTIL WINTER
Saturday & Sunday – Lunch in the Alpine Reservations must be made at Alexander Falls before 10:30 am for Day Hikers going to Journeyman Lodge.
For those wishing to fully immerse themselves in the quiet tranquility of the Coast Mountains, we recommend a two night retreat at our spectacular Journeyman Lodge. Located 13.5 kms from Alexander Falls and surrounded by pristine mountain peaks, bowls, and glaciers, Journeyman Lodge is an off-the-grid and unplugged escape from the hustle and bustle of urban life and crowds.
With our friendly 'Journeymen' as your hosts, you are in good company. Our traditional Lodge Hosts are pursuing new adventures this time of year, so a few hardworking shareholders step up to fill the gap. The idea is to share the comforts of 'lodge life' with those wishing to explore Callaghan Country's hiking destinations from a cozy 'home base'. We're going to be transparent...these guys are not trained hospitality professionals, but they are charming and knowledgeable locals, so you can count on that 'West Coast Hospitality' vibe.
