Bob Fawcett and his Team

Callaghan Country is lucky enough to have Bob Fawcett’s amazing Dogsledding team for our tours, providing guests an unparalleled tour in our alpine surroundings from an incredibly experienced team.

When Bob Fawcett first stepped behind a team of Alaskan Racing Huskies over a decade ago, he was hooked. Then in 1999 he and wife Katherine started Whistler Dogsledding with the goal of establishing the best dogsled company in the world. Today, they oversee an operation with over 300 dogs, and has always given full credit for their success to their wonderful dogs, whose health and well-being is their top priority.

The Race is On

Over the years, Bob and his mush-mates have dabbled in dogsled racing as their busy tour schedule has allowed. This year, they have decided to take their passion for the sport and the challenge of racing to the next level. Together with title sponsor First Mate, Bob has created the FirstMate Race Team and Callaghan Country is proud to be the team’s official training venue. Their goal is to increase awareness for the sport of dogsledding by creating the finest, most approachable dog racing team in North America.  With their fantastic dogs, fueled by extraordinary food, trained by phenomenal mushers in the most spectacular backcountry environment around, the team is poised to rock the dogsled race world.
