"Ski the Callaghan Valley"        Day-Use Cross-Country Skiing & Snowshoeing

Come Ski the Callaghan Valley and discover some of the continent's finest groomed cross-country ski trails, wilderness snowshoe loops and backcountry Nordic and alpine touring terrain.

Winter dates of day-use operation are Nov. 21, 2009 - Jan. 31, 2010 and Mar. 1, 2010 - May 2, 2010. The Callaghan Valley will not be open for public skiing between Feb. 1 - 28, 2010 as our neighbours at Whistler Olympic Park get ready to host the Nordic events the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, taking place February 12 - 28, 2010.

Please note that our backcountry Nordic inn, Callaghan Lodge, will be open through February for overnight accommodation and all of Callaghan Country's 42 km of trails will be open for the enjoyment of our overnight guests. Please visit our Overnight Rates & Packages page for more details.

We have partnered with Whistler Olympic Park again this season, so skiers will be able to enjoy both the Callaghan Country and Whistler Olympic Park trail systems with the purchase of a single day ticket or season pass.

This winter ALL cross-country ski and snowshoe trails in the Callaghan Valley will be accessed via the Callaghan Country base to enable VANOC, operator of Whistler Olympic Park, to focus on the successful delivery of the 2010 Nordic events.

Even though Whistler Olympic Park's day lodge, competition trails, parking lots, biathlon and ski jumping facilities will be closed this season, there will still be about 70 km of cross-country ski trails open to suit people of every ability level, along with several kms of snowshoe trails and over 1,000 hectares of prime Nordic and alpine ski touring terrain.  Lessons and rentals will also be available, along with retail services, packaged snacks and beverages.

A word about parking: We expanded our parking lot this past summer to compensate for the increased traffic (with VANOC’s help).  The lot will be able to handle at least 220 vehicles, and possibly up to 250. That’s an increase of at least 165% over last season!

A special note for dog owners: Our lower snowshoe loops have been designated as "dog-friendly,", as has the first 5km of our Wild Spirit multi-use trail (now called "Real Life"). This makes for a beautiful 10 km ski (out and back) for you and your canine companion. Please note that Whistler Olympic Park's "Pooched" loop will not be open this season. Please make sure your dog is under your care and control at all times, and don't forget to scoop the poop!

The Easy Way Up

For those wishing to save their energy for the upper valley trail network, and for those preferring to go snowshoeing or alpine ski touring, we offer a Backcountry Snow Shuttle service. The Snow Coach is a modified F350 crew cab truck with a passenger pod on rubber tracks. The snow coach can transport up to 10 people per load.

On Saturdays, individuals can book a 1-way shuttle for $31.50 (GST included). Seats must be be booked in advance. We require a minimum of 6 people to run the snow coach, otherwise, the shuttle will be done by snowmobile instead.

We also offer a snow coach charter service. The price for a 1-way transfer is $288.75 and a return trip is $551.25 (GST included).

Please call us at 604.938.0616 to inquire about shuttle availability and departure times.

"Ski the Callaghan Valley" Season Passes ON SALE NOW!

For those of you who live in the region, you might want to think about purchasing a season pass.  We've dropped our prices by 25% this season to compensate for the reduced amount of trails and the shorter ski season due to the Olympics. But you'll still get access to more than 70 km of XC trails over a 19 week ski season (Nov. 21/09 - Jan. 31/10 + Mar. 1/10 - May 2/10)! And with the completion of the upgrades to the Sea to Sky highway, the Callaghan Valley is only about 20 minutes from Whistler and about 90 minutes from Vancouver!

The Tri-Area Season Pass is back!

We’re pleased to announce that we've teamed up with Lost Lake Park again this winter to offer a combined Tri-Area pass. The Tri-Area pass gives you access to all three of Whistler’s Nordic areas: over 100 km of groomed cross-country ski trails, night skiing (at Lost Lake), and snowshoe trails. And Lost Lake Park is open daily through February, 2010 so Tri-Area passholders can ski all season long!

Join the excitement as the Whistler area emerges as one of North America's premiere Nordic ski destinations. Season passholders well receive the following great perks:

  • Receive the group rate of $169.00 per person, per night on ski-in / ski-out lodging packages (standard rooms), regardless of group size.  Includes: luggage transfer, meals (appies and 4-course dinner on Day 1, continental breakfast and bagged lunch on Day 2), and non-alcoholic beverages. Discount valid on the individual passholder's portion of the booking only. Not valid from February 12 - 28, 2010.
