Callaghan Valley Ski Conditions

Last Update: Sunday May 3rd

Thank you to everyone who helped to make the 2008-09 season our best one yet!!

We wrapped up the season with a 200 cm base at the lodge - not too shabby, all things considered!

A big shout-out to the 60+ folks who came out to our 1st annual Spring Fling on Saturday, May 2nd. It was a gorgeous sunny day with great spring skiing and a fun barbeque at the lodge.

Thanks to our Callaghan Country passholders, the Whistler Nordics, the Nordic Racers, the Hollyburn Jackrabbits, all of the other ski club members and of course our wonderful overnight guests who came up to visit us this season.

Thanks also to the Callaghan Connection, Whistler Olympic Park, the Nordic Shop, Sigges, the Escape Route, Whistler Alpine Guides Bureau, Coast Mountain Guides, and Arc'Teryx for your support this season. It means a lot.

We can't wait for next year!!

We will be open for summer hiking and mountain biking from August 29 - October 4th. Stay tuned for details on programs and pricing.

We will re-open for daily winter operations on Thursday, November 26 - earlier if snow conditions permit. We'll kick off the season with another group ski and barbeque at the lodge - join us for "Kick Start" when the snow flies so you can benchmark your time and get your season kicked off with a bang!

The Callaghan Country trails are still in good shape. Mainline / Parkway / Upper Wild Spirit were groomed on Sunday, May 3rd and Solitude, Ring and Meadows were rolled. Feel free to come on up for a ski or a snowshoe. Just remember that the area is not patrolled and the lodge is closed. Be sure to bring your own water and food, ski with a buddy and don't forget to advise a friend where you are in case you run into troubles.

Please remember that Callaghan Country is a mountainous environment. Nordic trails in our area may be more difficult than those you might find elsewhere. You will find hills on all of our trails...some rather steep. Please observe the trail ratings and feel free to ask us for more detail before you head out!

Be sure to pack enough food and water for your day. The lodge is open daily for warming up, and lunches are available Friday - Sunday (must purchase voucher at base). Our base warming hut is open daily from 9am - 4pm, where we have granola bars and bottled water available.
