Alpine Summer Adventures

The Canadian wilderness adventures and wilderness vacations offered by Callaghan Country are unparalleled.

Snow lingers at Callaghan Lodge, but as the valley clears of snow, the hiking, mountaineering and biking possibilities are endless. Fish abound in Callaghan Lake. As summer peaks, alpine heather and flowers bloom with an explosion of colour, and there are ample chances to view a variety of wildlife.

We are open for summer business on weekends beginning Saturday, July 17 and continuing until August 29.  Mid-week reservations for groups of six or more can be arranged with advance notice. We are open daily for overnight reservations from Wednesday, September 3 - Monday, October 11, 2010.

Sit back and relax on your wilderness vacation in British Columbia or plan your own Canadian wilderness adventure each day.

Horseback Riding                       *New Experience in the Callaghan!

We've teamed up with Copper Cayuse Outfitters - one of Sea to Sky Country's premier outfitters, to offer a 2-night guided horseback tour to Callaghan Lodge.

The expedition begins at the Alexander Falls staging area where guests will meet the horses and get acquainted with their charming guide. A leisurely trail ride over various mountain terrain and spectacular remote lookouts will cover about 5-hours before reaching your home base at Callaghan Lodge. On Day 2, pack your lunch and head out for a day of alpine hiking or further guided horseback exploration along the subalpine routes of the upper Callaghan Valley. On Day 3, pack a saddlebag lunch and head back down the valley for your final connection with wilderness before you return to the hussle-and-bussle of daily life.

Self-Guided Hiking

Enjoy a short walk around Conflict Lake on Meadows Loop trail or pack a picnic and hike up to spectacular Ring Lake. Suitable for intermediate hikers, the trail features breathtaking views towards Mt. Callaghan and across the valley to Journeyman Peak and the spires of Les Gendarmes. The hike will take approximately 4 - 5 hours (round trip), longer if you decide to take a dip in the Lake!
