Lodge Host / Chef

Reports to: Operations Manager

Status: Full time, salary

NOTE: This position has been filled for the 2009-10 season.

Partial Job Summary:

As the Lodge Host, it is your job to make sure that every guest has an incredible stay. You have a diverse range of responsiblities, including hospitality, preparing and serving meals, housekeeping, taking weather observations, and general lodge, systems, and trail maintenance. You are a people person who is passionate about outdoor adventure and you live to share this passion with others. It is your attention to detail and commitment to first-class service and hospitality that makes the Callaghan experience. You make each guest feel welcome and strive to make them feel special, comfortable, relaxed, safe, taken care of, and generally, right at home. This position would be well suited for an individual who is comfortable living on his or her own in a remote environment, or it could be shared by a married couple.

Lodge Host job description

Adventure Coordinator
Reports to: Marketing & Sales Manager
Status: Part time, hourly

Partial Job Summary:
As the company’s primary purveyor of information, you must be a clear communicator with an eye for detail. You must be knowledgeable about our programs and pricing, and you should also know a lot about Whistler and the surrounding area. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, so it is important that you can multi-task efficiently. You must be an independent self-starter capable of getting the job done with little supervision. Above all, you must have a zest for life and a desire to be active and to learn and to share your experiences with others. It is this passion for living that we strive to deliver to each of our guests – if you can live it, so can they.

Adventure Coordinator Job Description

 


Outside Operations coordinator
(a.k.a. “The Outside Guy,” or gal)
Reports to: Operations Manager
Status: Full time, seasonal (November 1 – May 2)

Job Summary:
Outside Operations encompasses a wide variety of roles within the company. As such, people in these positions must be "Jacks of all Trades": mechanically inclined, first-aid certified, physically fit, and passionate about providing extraordinary guest service at all times. You will be responsible for keeping all external lodge systems well-maintained. This includes everything from track-setting trails to chopping wood and guiding guests in and out of the lodge. You must be a team player and a problem-solver; keen to learn new skills and able to work with little or no supervision. Above all, you must have an adventurous spirit, an incredible work ethic, and a natural ability to handle complex challenges in an effective and efficient way.

Outside Operations Coordinator Job Description

Lodge Staff
Positions include: food preparation (baking and cooking), housekeeping, service
Reports to: Lodge Host
Status: Part time, casual. Employment includes room & board at Callaghan Lodge when working.

Working at Callaghan Lodge, these team members are responsible for making sure that every guest has an incredible vacation experience while at the lodge. All lodge staff must have impeccable attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to delivering first-class service and hospitality to each and every guest. Lodge staff are passionate about the backcountry experience, and they thrive on sharing this passion with our guests. All lodge staff have well-honed communication skills and they understand that the most important part of their job is to make each guest feel welcome, special, comfortable, relaxed, safe, taken care of, and generally, right at home. Lodge staff are true people people, yet they thrive on the challenge of living in a remote location. All lodge staff are hard-working, self-starters who enjoy working as part of team.
